Blended Irish Whiskey, 43%vol


Wicklow Rare is a small batch blended Irish whiskey. It contains 80% grain whiskey, matured for 4 years in first fill bourbon barrels, then finished in oloroso sherry cask for six months. The second part is 20% malt whiskey, matured for 10 years in first fill bourbon barrels.
The whiskey is bottled at 43%vol strength without chill-filtration.
 

Colour:

Pale gold

Nose:

vanilla, honey and baked fruits (confit)

Taste:

Very smooth entry and then expansive with a mouth coating, oily texture. Mid palate shows a nuttiness and warmth with hints of raisin and plum.

Finish:

Long, clean finish with subtle marmalade notes and caramel.
