The Irishman
The Irishman is an Irish Whiskey brand owned by the Walsh Whiskey Distillery Company. Another brand of the company is Writer’s Tears. All whiskey brands of The Irishman are awarded – not least the Irishman Founder’s Reserve, one of the highest rated Irish Whiskeys of Jim Murray’s Whisky Bible.
Although there’s still no own manufacturing facility the company is one of the leading suppliers of premium irish whiskey. In 2014 they got the building licence for a new distillery in County Carlow at the Royal Oak area. It is planned to build a top modern distillery with warehouses nearby the river Barrow. The first spirit will flow from the stills in 2016.
