Holzlandbräu

Holzlandbräu

All small breweries in the Thuringian so called Woodlands (Holzland) have been closed down in the 60’s of the last century. The GDR government decided to run only some selected big breweries to deliver a special area each. So even the since 1696 well known “Holzlandbräu” disappeared.
Now Thomas Büchner from Bad Klosterlausnitz, Thuringia, the old home of Holzlandbräu, bought the naming rights. Without a bewery – the original one is gone since decades – he directed the brewing of this old brand to a small Thuringian brewery. So now again we can enjoy this natural speciality.
