Whyte & Mackay is distinguished from other Blended Scotch Whiskies by the secret of its final maturation. The Master Blender selects the finest aged single malts and marries them together to form a lasting union. This ‘first marriage’ as it is known, lasts for several months. Grain whiskies are aged separately in barrels.
The final chapter of the maturation sees the marrying of these two different whiskies in sherry casks. This triple maturation process produces a whisky rich in colour with golden highlights, round and full on the nose with smooth, rich flavours of honey and fruits.
