Swedish Single Malt Whisky, 40%vol

In 2015 Mackmyra developed together with the Swedish company Brands For Fans this single malt, to celebrate the 40th anninersary of the loudest band in the world.

Because of the huge demand it is now not only a limited edition anymore, but available regularily in Germany, despite Lemmy’s death in December 2015 and the end of the band.

The style of the whisky is designed exactly as Lemmy would have loved it. It’s a single malt with woody tones, slightly fruity character and nice vanilla notes. Five years it is matured in new barrels of American oak. Then it got a finish of six months in oloroso sherry casks. The whisky is bottled at 40%vol and chill filtered to avoid cloudyness when served chilled. This is the style prefered in America, Lemmy’s adopted homeland until his death.

Lemmy Kilminster, Motörheads legendary front man, founder, gravel-voiced vocalist and bass player says: “Life is less painful with Motörhead Whisky. I may consider having a sip now and then.”

Mikkey Dee, Motörhead-drummer: “We think it’s great fun to launch a whisky in collaboration with a Swedish, world-famous distillery, Mackmyra. The whisky is incredibly good, with full character and fully flavoured with a superb bourbon touch, as it’s been aged in bourbon casks. All of us in the band have been active in the production process and are very proud over the result, and are happy to now launch such a great, characteristic whisky, Motörhead-style.”
