Distilling in Ireland dates back over a 1000 years and before there was Irish whiskey there was Poitín. A clear non-aged Irish spirit famous for its quality and its alcohol strength, Poitín was outlawed in 1661, driving the whole industry underground until now. In an effort to revive the Original Spirit of Ireland Teeling released a modern high quality bottling of Poitín. Consisting of non-aged, new make Irish spirit made from malted barley distilled in copper pot stills and from maize distilled in column stills. Bottled at 61.5%, this bottling gives you a unique chance to taste what real Poitín has to offer.

Jack Teeling, founder of the Teeling Whiskey Co., comes from a family long associated with Irish whiskey. From Walter Teeling in 1782 who setup a distillery on Marrowbone Lane in Dublin to John Teeling who founded Cooley Distillery in 1987, the first new Irish whiskey distillery to be establish in Ireland in over 100 years. Jack continues on the Teelings entrepreneurial spirit and while initially starting out as an Independent bottler aims to get back into the distilling game to ensure a constant supply of Irish whiskey. The Teeling Whiskey Co. reviving the Independent Spirit of Ireland.
