It is somewhat fitting that the ‘grassy isle’ lends its name to this exquisite 12 year old single malt. Unique as the island itself with grassy notes and floral hints of pear drops, crème caramel, soft fruits, vanilla and fudge. Aged in three hand selected types of cask – bourbon, refill and recharred – these whiskies are then married together in a balance known only to our Master Distiller Bill White.
Inchmurrin is distilled at Loch Lomond Distillery but is distinctly different from Loch Lomond single malt. Inchmurrin is fermented using different yeasts. And as a consequence of using the special sprit still with 13 bubble cap distillation trays and a water cooled dephlegmator Inchmurrin has a very different middle cut to Loch Lomond single malt.
Distilled in Loch Lomond’s unique stills creating a distinctiv lighter whisky with subtle floral notes aged in three types of casks and vatted together in a rare balance.

Nose: |
Distinctively fruity with pear drops and toffee sweetness. Light notes of freshly cut hay in summer sun. |
Taste: |
Seville orange citrus notes build in intensity before mellowing into softer fruits of peach and apricot. The fruit character gives way to creamy fudge and vanilla. |
Finish: |
Medium length with peppery finish. |
The enchanting isle of Inchmurrin is the largest of the Loch Lomond’s islands and was once home to the chapel built by Christian monks in the 7th century. Known as the ‘Grassy Isle’ it is soft, rounded and wonderfully wooded - attributes sought after in many a malt.
Large enough to support a small community, Inchmurrin lends its name to distinctive whiskies in the Island Collection of Loch Lomond Distillery. Each unique, but all sharing the characteristics which make this range beautifully unique.
