Royal Lochnagar in the valley of the Dee between Ballater and Braemar is at the bottom of the Lochnagar. It’s the only distillery of this region. John Begg built it in 1845, and it is the only one that survived in this valley appreciated by moonshiners. In 1848 Royal Lochnagar obtained the “Royal Warrant”. Since then it is named “Royal”.

With two little stills and a production of 4.000 hectoliters per year Royal Lochnagar is one of the smaller distilleries. It is available as a single malt for some time, it was one of the first to be sold extensive.

Coloured with caramel.
