Since the millenium the distillers of Auchentoshan have placed small batches of the unique triple distilled spirit in virgin North American Oak. As the name suggests it’s the first spirit to be matured in this wood, the charred surfaces are untouched by bourbon or sherry.

Intuition suggested to challenge a long-held belief: Scotch Whisky must be matured in ex-bourbon or sherry casks. Just one taste confirms they’re right. Time and patience created a deep orange colour along with spiced apple and candied notes – revealing layer upon layer of complexity.
