Islay Single Malt Scotch Whisky, 50%vol

Smooth as pebbles in a pool. It’s clean, fresh and lively with both the oak and the grain in perfect harmony.

Bruichladdich Scottish Barley Single Malt Scotch Whisky has been crafted by master distiller Jim McEwan from individually selected casks to showcase the dlassic, floral and elegant Bruichladdich house style. Unpeated, it is a signature bottling of bruichladdich.
Made from 100% Scottish barley, trickle distilled, then matured for its entire life by the shores of Lochindaal in premium American oak, it is a testament to the quality of ingredients. It shall show how much barley matters.

Colouring free and non chill-filtered for more depth and length of flavours.

Colour:

Sunlight on fields of early summer barley

Nose:

The bouquet is brilliant. Opening with barley sugar and a hint of mint before leading into the most wonderful notes of freshly cut wild flowers; buttercup, daisy, meadowsweet, myrtle, primrose and cherry blossom. The cleanliness of the spirit is remarkable. As the seconds tick by, more aromas rise from the glass, little zephyrs of spindrift and sea pinks reminding you that this spirit is matured exclusively by the sea. After some four or five minutes and with the addition of a little water, caramelisd fruits drift onto the scene; lemon drops and honey, tangerine and tablet

Palate:

The palate entry is so refined and refreshing, the sweet oak and the barley arriving together sending the taste buds into raptures. The fruits from distillation drift in on an Atlantic breeze and pop on the tongue like champagne bubbles. A combination of ripe green fruit, brown sugar and sweet malt bring closure. A taste back in time, a realisation that not all single malts are equal and to achieve the absolute optimum, you must use barley that is made in Scotland. Make this one the benchmark for all others you meet on your journey through the stills of Scotland.

Finish:

Unforgettable! Its best enjoyed in good company, you just don’t want the evening to end. It brings warmth to the heart and soul. The clock slows down and the cares of tomorrow disappear into the dawn.

Producer: Bruichladdich Distillery, Isle of Islay, Argyll, PA49 7UN, Scotland

Bruichladdich (try ‘Brook-Laddie’) is a Gaelic reference to the ‘raised beach’ upon which the distillery is sited, on the Hebridean Isle of Islay, on Scotland’s wild west coast. Built in 1881 by William Harvey and his brothers, it was closed down in 1994 as “surplus to requirements”.
On 19th December 2000 it was acquired by a small group of private investors led by Mark Reynier. Following extensive renovation, the distillery recommenced distilling at 08.23 on the 29th May 2001. Bruichladdich, now a private Scottish company operated, managed and directed on Islay.

Matured beside the Atlantic, the whisky is bottled in Islay’s only bottling hall - 100% naturally - free from chill-filtration, colouring, and homogenisation. Islay water, filtered through the oldest rocks in the whisky world, is used to reduce from cask to bottling strength of 46%. Inspired by both the wine and whisky worlds, pioneering whiskies are designed by Master Distiller Jim McEwan. Bruichladdich is known as The Sophisticated Islay. Owing to the unusually tall, narrow-necked stills the single malts are subtle yet compelling, fresh and ‘un-medicinal’. As the old French proverb says: “it is in old pans that one does the best cooking”.
