The Langatun Old Bear Smoky is aged in oak casks previously used for the maturation of French red wine from the Chateauneuf-du-Pape area, a massive dark red wine. The elements of this wine can be detected in the "Old Bear": an intense auburn colour, nice flavours of wood and peat and the typical malty aroma with a slight touch of the taste of wine.

With the triple distillation the Old Bear gets its incomparable smooth, tender and malty character. The whisky matures in the casks for about 5 years before it is bottled.

Each bottle is signed with the date of distillation, the date of bottling, the cask-type and the batch number.
