Czech Single Malt Whisky, 43%vol
The oldest brand of Czech whisky is Gold Cock. Its traditional production was taken over by Rudolf Jelinek from Distillery Dolany. The taste of this whisky is smooth, with a woody-vanilla finish and a hint of peat smoke, which is used for drying the malt.
In the production of the 12 year-old single malt whiskey, Moravian barley and crystal clear spring water are used. After distillation, this Gold Cock whisky is stored in oak barrels where it ages for at least 12 years.
When aging in Bohemian oak barrels, evaporation takes place, where about two percent of the content evaporates per year. This loss has a poetic name "angel tax". An old proverb says that it is a reward for angels who protect the quality of the whisky during the time of aging.
The flawless experience of the distillers in the process of distillation and aging of distillates gives this traditional Czech whisky an exceptionally well-balanced flavour and aroma, the best evidence of which are repeated awards from tasting competitions around the world.
