Kentucky Straight Bourbon Whiskey, 45%vol

Augustus Bulleit emigrated from France to America and started to distill whiskey in Louisville. This town was an important station for the first american pioneers on their way westwards. Here they got provision, equipment and - of course Bulleit Whiskey. With the sudden death of Augustus Bulleit in 1860 when his whiskey transport was attacked the success story ended.

The brand was revived in the 1980s by Tom Bulleit, an ex-Marine who saw service in Vietnam. Tom gave up his successful law practice to make whiskey, using a recipe belonging to his great-great-grandfather - the enigmatic Augustus Bulleit. Today it is produced by Four Roses.

Nose:

Rich, oaky aroma with vanilla, honey, orange and leather

Palate:

dry, clean flavour, mellow and smooth, orange peel, vanilla, a little spicy, not hot in the throat

Finish:

long and smoky
