Plunging down from the dark heavens, the Valkyries would descend like avenging angels on horseback to comb the battlefields for the bravest of the fallen warriors, heroes fit to enter the great Norse god Odin’s hall, Valhalla. Highland Park Valkyrie celebrates the rich Nordic ancestry on the isle of Orkney, which once was part of a vast Viking kingdom, and its packaging was designed by internationally renowned designer and Viking Soul, Jim Lyngvild. Exquisitely balanced and delivering wave upon wave of warm aromatic smoke and richly ripened fruit, Highland Park Valkyrie is the first in a series of three special Viking Legend releases. It has just been awarded the Chairman’s Trophy in the 2017 Ultimate Spirits Challenge, scoring 99 out of 100.

Natural amber hue

Nose:

A dramatic opening with the sharp tang of sweet green apples and ripening lemons gives way to bewitching oriental spices that tease the senses with a promise of a long, slow seduction.

Palate:

Creamy vanilla – voluptuous and silky smooth – wraps itself around sweet preserved ginger and luscious dark chocolate, soothing and enticing in equal measure with tantalising hints of salty black liquorice and the crackle of a smouldering bonfire.

Finish:

Exquisitely balanced, long and lingering, waves of warm aromatic smoke and richly ripened fruit.
