Single Islay Malt Whisky, 46%vol

After the great success of Smokehead here now is introduced Smokehead Extra Black 18 Years Old. Ian Macleod Distillers knew that it has to be very special and crafted a whisky so intensely peaty and fresh it really needs to be tasted to be believed.
 

Nose:

Instantly full peat smoke but underneath lies earthy, chalky notes with ginger, mint and the suggestion of cream and bananas

Palate:

Starts light and briny with gentle cloves, then smoke slowly builds along with vanilla and cocoa. Fantastically rounded and smooth with a pleasing oily mouth feel. One to savour.

Finish:

Impressively long and pleasantly dry with smoke ever present, combining with rich dark chocolate and kiwi fruit
